Egg Collective’s Designing Women Exhibition in NYC
Egg Collective is a New York-based design company established in 2011 by three female. All of Egg Collective’s work is made in its own wood shop and in collaboration with a community of small-scale fabricators. Part of Egg Collective’s business ethos is focus on female empowerment, collaboration, and camaraderie and they wanted the opportunity to showcase that. To highlight and support the community of female designers & women world-wide.
During May, the ladies is hosting the “Designing Women” an empowering exhibition created to bring together a community of all-female designers. The show features furniture, lighting, and homeware all created by female-led businesses in New York. “Designing Women” aims to “highlight and support” these women designers and their work, as well as promote the equality and empowerment of women across the world
Recently we have been talking about, and re-thinking, what this means and why it is important. In this vein, we had the idea of hosting Designing Women in May. This show will highlight, and bring together, the top female designers operating in NYC. There is such a wealth of talented women in this city – and we think it’s worth celebrating and giving back!
Participating in the show are sixteen female artists and designers including Anna Karlin, Bec Brittain, Dana Barnes, Caroline Ventura of Brvtvs, Deborah Ehrlich, Ensemble Studio, Hiroko Takeda, Julianne Ahn of Object & Totem, Lindsey Adelman, Lisa Hedge and Vanessa Saba of Ensemble Studio NYC, Lora Appleton of Kinder Modern, Maria Moyer, Natalie Herrera of High Gloss, Syrette Lew of Moving Mountains and Yolande Batteau of Callidus Guild.
